What I propose is not only a business but a way of life. A crew of artist/gardeners devoted to creating places of wonder. Very involved in ideas for community gardens, fresh food locally, we want only the benefit of those around us. I would like the concept to be non-profit but do expect a modest salary for my services. These are comprehensive, as you will see.
I am prepared to learn about things like fund raising and how to attract media attention and a great many other tedious things as well. However, I may be better to focus initially on the gardening aspect of the house itself. We may be better off to make private, commissioned arrangements and run a straight-forward business. That would leave less time for community garden work but after all, the first thing is to establish our credibility...and eat while doing it.

Hoochi Mama Pod Cast
The Blue Fairy undertakes the transformation of a slovenly, middle-aged landscaper into a wonderfully gifted community benefactor. Everything shall be carefully, if somewhat crudely, documented and shown on the Web as a reality show podcast.
New Year
Gift and Changeling return from visiting Nana and Grampa. They have watched some Gilbert and Sullivan, some blue planet and saw a beautiful baby cousin. They ate very well and watched an excellent documentary about autistic children. Now Changeling is returned to her feathers and gems. Gift puzzles out her course of study. Changeling tries to think in business proposal. It comes to her gradually, with many digressions.
The problem is that it is not so much a business she is proposing so much as a way of life. "Stay practical!" Gift tells her with considerable impatience. So be it. Practical.
What Changeling wants is a salary of $24,000. a year. Ideally she would be subcontracted to the city in a non-profit capacity. Her principle occupation would be the implementation of community gardens within existing urban parks. Private contracts to be considered on a contingency basis, with all profit put toward ongoing community projects. A wide variety of art objects will be displayed for visitors and notices for workshops, lectures and performances posted.

The Hoochi Mama Garden
What is the Hoochi Mama Garden? It is a household of artists who live to design exquisite gardens. We specialize in small jewel like settings. Our principle offerings are sculpture, mosaic and screens for gardens or sunrooms. Also natural arrangements composed of stone, wood and a variety of found objects. We are devoted to the idea of collaboration. If we accept an invitation to create a garden our warmest hope is to accommodate whatever involvement you choose to achieve. If you want to learn about transplanting, potting or anything else to do with garden care, we will gladly teach you. There will also be as many Art workshops as can be managed. The whole idea is basically one big roving studio, a network of gardens.
Here at Hoochi Mama we are very interested in Community Gardens. We would like these places to include farmers markets, booths for local artists and live performance. We believe that animal friendly considerations be accommodated as much as possible. Multigenerational, countercultural interdenominational, music of the spheres harmonies.
